Why don’t you see dragons anymore?
Beacuse we don’t want you to
Every time you see us
You have this compulsion to stab and kill
All we want is to be left in peace
A comfy bed and a bite to eat
Not so different really as you

Why don’t you see dragons anymore?
We are masters of mystery and magic
But sometimes circumstance traps us
Sometimes we are caught in another form
And must remain therein for a lifetime
So dragons are all around you
Hiding (or not) in plain sight!

Why don’t you see dragons anymore?
I’ll give you an example why
Take my sister, she was a child in disguise
And taken in as an abandoned kitty
Trapped now in feline form, she prowls
Hissing and spitting, chewing coals
In the forlorn hope of redemption

Why don’t you see dragons anymore?
What am I, the talking dragon locator?
Would you believe me if I told you
Mr Lon, the pharmacist, is a dragon?
Or your puppy Chi-Chi, would you believe that?
How about this ancient tree beside the moon pool?
How much are you willing to hear and see?

Why don’t you see dragons anymore?
Because they are tired of hearing the same question!!!
Gulp!
What? I was hungry
And now I will sleep a while
And dream of the chivalrous days
When we ate well on canned food
