Turn the tap on, just a tiny bit
And watch the first trickle of words
Roll and plop into the bowl
Run them through your fingers
Feeling them burst apart and reform
Into new words and forms
Perhaps this will be the one
The poem that didn’t get away!
Turn the tap more and be devoured
By a gushing torrent that leaps
And runs over and under
Pulling you down the plughole
You forgot to close
Until you and words together are travelling
Into an unknown world of twists and turns
That bring you out who knows where!
Today’s challenge was to write a poem . . . in the form of a poetry prompt.
