Long hair, silence and reading

Enough to mark me out from the herd

Blonde and from the mountain

That made me a sheep to be mocked at

Silence equates to snobbishness

Not reticence or shyness

That deserves punishment

Hair-pulling and pushing

Reading – well you are a show-off

Or pretending you can read

A cheat and a fraud and a snob!

A first day accident at three and a half

Lead to an eternity (it seemed)

A lifetime of insults

Primary school can scare you

It can scar you, mar you

Inhibit and introvert you

Until the day you realise

None of their attitudes matter

Only your own

When you are in your thirties!
