The rain fell swiftly this morning
Does the rain wait for me?
Can it tell the time?
And this afternoon again it came
Is someone up there gunning for me?
To drench me at home time?
Do the clouds hover, giggling overhead
Watching for me to appear?
Dribbling a few solitary drops
Then letting lose with a huge guffaw
And a thunderplump deluge!
But in between there was sunshine
And hail and snow and wind!
All the seasons in one April day
Lunchbreak was sunny and bright
Until my walk took me far enough
That the hailstones could attack me with glee
Am I getting paranoid?
Worrying about being stalked
By clouds and raindrops?
